Beth & Dave * 2011 Engagement Photography

Beth and Dave were referred by a previous client and I’m so glad they were – these two are a ton of fun! Beth had the awesome idea of getting some shots in Grand Concourse since they were all decorated for Christmas. Afterwards we walked up to station square to finish out the session. We got lucky with our timing and were able to get into Grand Concourse while it was basically deserted, and a well-timed passing train made for some fun shooting as well. (more…)

Judy & Brandon * Pittsburgh’s North Shore

Several months ago I ran a WeddingChannel.com “groupon” deal for 50% off engagement sessions. The feedback from the program was great and Judy & Brandon were among those to take advantage of the crazy low session rate. After grabbing a cup of coffee with this awesome couple we had a game plan in place to make some images around Pittsburgh’s North Shore on November 15th. (more…)

Kelly & Dan * 2011 Engagement Photography * Pittsburgh, PA

This time of year makes it a bit difficult to determine when to schedule evening sessions. The already shortening days are made even shorter after we “fall back” as daylight savings ends. It’s always a goal to try for the best light possible but pushing things too late can lead to a quick loss of light and an entirely different feel to the gallery. With careful planning (and maybe a little luck) we were able to time Kelly & Dan’s e-session almost perfectly and make some amazing Fall photos. (more…)

Katie & Steve * 2011 Engagement Photography * Pittsburgh, PA

There are few houses as interesting as the mansion at Hartwood Acres. When Katie and Steve suggested this as a location for their engagement session, I jumped on the chance in a heartbeat! We originally planned to do this shoot in the evening but go rained out, and I’m so glad that happened! The mansion looked amazing in the late-morning light of a beautiful Fall day in Pittsburgh.

As per usual, Katie and Steve were a little apprehensive at first as they are not used to being photographed by a nutty photographer, so we eased into the shoot by slowly walking around the mansion, capturing frames here and there. By the end of the session the dynamic had shifted to a fun morning hanging out, Steve was pumping out creative ideas and they even trusted me enough to climb into the huge oak tree that reside in the “backyard.” (more…)

Anna & Steve * 2011 Engagement Photography * Pittsburgh, PA

Anna and Steve weren’t exactly sure where they wanted to have their engagement session, but they knew they wanted something outdoorsy. Having recently photographed a wedding at Settler’s Cabin park I knew that the scenery was perfect there and so upon my suggestion the location was set. What we didn’t plan for was the three straight days of 20-30MPH winds prior to the shoot that sent practically every leaf in the park flying into the woods! (more…)
