I first met Mia & Lola back in June, 2011 just weeks after Lola was born. For some reason (probably wedding craziness) I never got around to writing up a blog post to highlight some photos of these two beautiful little girls. Can you blame a girl for wanting to make a big entrance? I’m 32 and I’ve never been on a helicopter ride…precious little Sloane got one on her first day of life! All kidding aside, I was so relieved that Sloane’s dramatic arrival (complete with life-flight and month-long hospital stay) ended so happily, with baby, Momma and everyone else doing wonderfully. We of course had to make an exception to our normal 7-10 day-old time period for infant photos, but I think you’ll agree that the wait was more than worth it! (more…)
One of the privileges of doing what I do is getting to take photos of those closest to me. I have two nephews and three nieces and it’s a pleasure each and every time I get to photograph any of them! My brother Jeremy and his lovely wife Stephanie brought Jack and Joa over to the studio last week for a quick session. Jack is starting pre-school this year and Joa turned one on 9/8/11. These two love the camera and I’m in love with both of them!! (more…)
This year has brought wonderful growth to Josh Mariana Photography. So much so that there was an opportunity for an aspiring photographer to join the team. The goal was to find a solid, creative amateur photographer who would fit into what I’m trying to do with this business but who could also deliver the product that I strive for as well as put up with me! There have been people here and there over the last three years who have expressed interest in helping me. It’s a strange place to be in, to try to choose. I suppose it’s one of those tough responsibilities that comes with growth. However in the end it really wasn’t a choice, but just another turn in the path that God has put our feet on. (more…)
It’s always awesome to meet new clients but when Alyssa and Jason, who we’ve known for over 10 years, asked me to photograph their sons Brody and (brand new) Talon, I was ecstatic! I’m not sure if I was excited because I knew the session would be super low-key and relaxed, or if it’s just such a huge compliment when people simply choose Josh Mariana Photography. There’s no consult, no selling, you’re just it. That’s a nice feeling. (more…)
