Dan & Dee Dee * 2011 Wedding Photography * Pittsburgh, PA

Josh Mariana Photography closed out our 2011 wedding season on November 5th, photographing the fantastically enjoyable wedding of Dan & Dee Dee in Oakmont, PA. The Harmer House has never failed to deliver fun-filled wedding receptions in the past, but Dan & Dee Dee also chose to have their ceremony there as well. The facility & staff impressed me with their ability to handle the entire event! We hitched a ride in an RV to a small park nearby for some photo fun in between the ceremony and reception. The party got started as soon as we returned and kept rockin’ all night thanks to Steve Maffei Jr. (more…)

Colleen & Jeff * 2011 Wedding Photography * Pittsburgh, PA

Usually I can count on September weddings to have fairly mild weather, with extremes being pretty rare exceptions. Saturday, September third was one of those exceptions! Highs in the area reportedly reached 97 degrees in some places and I’ll wager that temperatures inside of South Side Presbyterian Church climbed well over 100. (more…)

The idea of a smaller wedding seems so antiquated in the modern era of 20-person bridal parties, cavernous ballrooms and computer-programmed uplighting schemes. Not that any of those things are bad but it can be a nice change of pace to be a part of a smaller event from time to time. Although they do have unique challenges, I love photographing smaller events as they almost always present a much more intimate atmosphere. (more…)
