Karin & Steve * March 24, 2012 * Valley Brook Country Club

I’ve known Karin and her family since she was born. She first contacted me to set up a meeting to discuss engagement/wedding photography at the end of Summer 2011 and we had a great time catching up and talking details! We decided to have their engagement shoot in their current hometown of Boston, MA. You might remember Karin & Steve’s e-session post from last October.

The wedding was held back in Pittsburgh at Valley Brook Country Club. We had a terrific day starting with some quick candids at the awesome home of Mary Ann & Robert Steinbock, parents of the bride. The rest of the day would be spent in and around the country club. The weather threatened to turn on us but never did, and Karin & Steve ended up with a beautiful day celebrating with friends & family. Special thanks to the Steinbocks for their support and encouragement, and of course for the business! It was my pleasure to be a part of this amazing wedding!

Dan & Dee Dee * 2011 Wedding Photography * Pittsburgh, PA

Josh Mariana Photography closed out our 2011 wedding season on November 5th, photographing the fantastically enjoyable wedding of Dan & Dee Dee in Oakmont, PA. The Harmer House has never failed to deliver fun-filled wedding receptions in the past, but Dan & Dee Dee also chose to have their ceremony there as well. The facility & staff impressed me with their ability to handle the entire event! We hitched a ride in an RV to a small park nearby for some photo fun in between the ceremony and reception. The party got started as soon as we returned and kept rockin’ all night thanks to Steve Maffei Jr. (more…)

Usually I can count on September weddings to have fairly mild weather, with extremes being pretty rare exceptions. Saturday, September third was one of those exceptions! Highs in the area reportedly reached 97 degrees in some places and I’ll wager that temperatures inside of South Side Presbyterian Church climbed well over 100. (more…)

The idea of a smaller wedding seems so antiquated in the modern era of 20-person bridal parties, cavernous ballrooms and computer-programmed uplighting schemes. Not that any of those things are bad but it can be a nice change of pace to be a part of a smaller event from time to time. Although they do have unique challenges, I love photographing smaller events as they almost always present a much more intimate atmosphere. (more…)

Have you ever met someone and just knew from the outset that they were going to be awesome? Well this is how I felt about Kim & Kevin from the first time we spoke. These two are truly full of life and know how to have a good time! When we met up to check out the church in which they’d be getting married, I was immediately intrigued. St. Malachy Church in McKees Rocks is truly a gorgeous place of worship! With a giant wall of windows at the front of the church I was presented with unique benefits/challenges. (more…)
